We’ve all grown used to hearing the term “fake news.” It took courage for Trump to say it out loud, but once he did, people started paying attention. Many became more careful about what they hear, and the wise ones even began fact‑checking the news to see if it was true.
So here’s the question: Why aren’t Christians doing the same thing with teaching?
Scripture tells us to be Bereans — to check what we’re being taught against the Word to see if it is true (Acts 17:11).
Jesus Himself warned, “Let no man deceive you.” (Matthew 24:4)
Yet today we see exactly what Paul described:
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” — 2 Timothy 3:5
They claim the mantle, but they don’t have the fruit.
These are the tares.
We are also told not to live for man’s approval but for God’s alone (Galatians 1:10).
And now we’re watching everything He warned us about unfold.
People are running in droves toward a dangerous ideology labeled as Christianity, and almost no one is being a Berean to see if they’re being led astray.
This particular heresy is dangerous because it sounds right.
It sounds Christian.
It sounds patriotic.
And because we want the country to come back to Jesus so badly, many drop their guard — and before they know it, they’ve allowed themselves to be deceived.
So stay grounded in what Scripture actually says, not what man wants you to believe it says.
Never let a “that sounds right” sermon turn your head away from the truth.
Be a Berean always.
Now here’s the inspirational part:
Jesus said the wheat and the tares grow together until the harvest, and at the harvest the wheat is gathered to Him while the tares are separated out and burned (Matthew 13:24–30).
If we’re seeing the tares so clearly now — and we know their outcome — shouldn’t that remind us that our redemption is drawing near?
So lift up your heads, brothers and sisters.
We’re seeing the signposts that say, “Your exit is near.”
