SPREAD THE LOVE

This is the season for spreading love. Christmas is a time when people exchange gifts, have dinner parties, and enjoy good times. However, not everyone remembers to share with the less fortunate. Many people do give to the impoverished, but some do it only at Christmas. Others don’t do it at all. But helping others is something Jesus takes very seriously. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 25:35-41? He said that when you give to the needy, you are giving to Him. But listen to what He says of those who do not give: “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me. Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:40-41). We should keep in mind that people need help year round, not just during the Christmas season. If we can’t give to someone in our town who is in need, perhaps we can give money to or volunteer at the food bank, homeless shelter, or food kitchen. There are so many ways to serve. Our acts of kindness and love to those less fortunate are giving directly to the Lord. So let's spread the love throughout the year, not just at Christmas!
