JUST PICK UP YOUR BIBLE AND BE ENCOURAGED

When one looks at the news and sees all the terror, chaos, fighting, natural disasters, death, suffering, illness, and the like, one must wonder if we are in the tribulation or at least the start of it. NO, we are not. We are in the “beginning of sorrows” Matt. 24:8. Jesus told us these things would happen at the time of the end, but he said the end is not yet. Matt. 24:6: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Many people who do not know Jesus and who do not know or understand scripture, call these things, “gloom and doom”. It is for THEM, for they are children of the darkness ( or night). 1 Thess. 5:5: “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” We are children of the light/day so we are not afraid. Yet, many Christians are afraid, or at the least concerned. We have to rest on the Lord’s words and not what’s happening around us. Luke 21:28: “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” This is what we must cling to. This scripture is our life ring, if you will. We know that we will not be here for the worst. Sure, it’s pretty bad now, but not as bad as in many parts of the world and not as bad as it’s going to get. So, when things start to make you “concerned”, just pick up your bible and be encouraged.
