Karoline Leavitt to leave Trump admin at end of August

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave her position by the end of August. Trump said Leavitt is departing to spend more time with her family and young children, while saying she will remain closely involved with his administration and the Republican Party from outside.

Leavitt will become one of Trump’s senior outside advisers and is expected to help Republicans heading into the November midterm elections: “She can now spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Trump said Leavitt will continue to have a political role, as an outside advisor: “Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections."

Trump's full statement to Truth reads: "Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect! Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections. Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024.
