Liberal media now refers to Jan 6 as ‘rallies,’ 'demonstrations,’ and ‘protests’ to defend Ray Epps

The Washington Post now refers to what happened on January 6, 2021 as "pro-Trump rallies." All WaPo's previous reporting called the events of that day an "insurrection" and equated those who participated in it with "secessionists." The new framing comes as Ray Epps launched a lawsuit against Fox News, charging the network with having insinuated that he is or was a federal agent and was at the Trump rally at the Ellipse in DC on January 6 in that capacity, with the task of riling people up to riot.

Ousted former Fox host Tucker Carlson dug into this question, which was made more poignant as the arrests of January 6 participants, to use the new lingo, continued and Epps, who was captured on video at the "demonstrations," was not among them. Bloomberg said that Ray Epps "joined the Jan 6., 2021 protests." They'd previously called that event an "attack on the US Capitol," and did so many times in the ensuing years.

The New York Times, which has endlessly stated that the events of January 6 constituted a "riot," now terms the day's difficulties as mere "pro-Trump demonstrations on and around Jan. 6."

Even Rolling Stone, who terms those who were involved in the Capitol riot "insurrectionists," gives Epps the benefit of the doubt, citing his attorney's calling him "a Trump supporter that participated in the protests on January 6th."

Oh.

Timcast's Tim Pool and co-hosts Ian Crossland and Seamus Coughlin were astounded when they discovered that Rolling Stone had changed their tune to such a degree. The outlet went from condeming everyone who participated in the severest of terms to saying that Epps, also a participant, also being charged by the DOJ, is just a little old Trump supporter who had been part of a protest.

Many questions were raised about Epps and his involvement in the ensuing years. He was visible on video telling other "demonstrators," formerly "insurrectionists," to go into the Capitol, to "storm it," if you will. He was interviewed by the January 6 Committee, convened under Nancy Pelosi's House speakership, chaired by Rep. Bennie Thompson, and released. It has now been revealed through the lawsuit that Epps was charged for his participation in May.

CBS ran a story in April claiming that those who noted Epps' participation in the Captiol riot of January 6 was the "center of a far-right conspiracy theory." That theory is that "Epps, a former member of the Oath Keepers, was an FBI informant who incited the crowd on January 6th."

More than 1,000 people have been arrested, and the DOJ has said another 1,000 will be, for their "participation" on that day. Those detained and charged include grandmothers, moms and dads, and sentences of up to four years have been meted out in the name of justice. Epps' involvement was known from the start, but he was only just charged. Video shows Epps at the "breach."

As other participants have been convicted, The New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg and Rolling Stone have documented their charges and sentences. They have called them seditionists, insurrectionists, white supremacists. Media and politicians have used these charges as evidence of a vast conspiracy to overthrow the government, implicating Donald Trump as well.

However, the question must be asked why mainstream media is running cover for Ray Epps, changing the language to indicate this man is innocent or anything at all, and cannot possibly be held to account for the simple First Amendment act of petitioning the government for a redress of grievances. And if Epps was merely a pro-Trump demonstrator who attended rallies on that day, of who else might that also be said? It is unlikely that the press rush to their narrative aid as well. We need to know why.
