Philly DA Larry Krasner vows to arrest ICE agents: 'I'm going to do everything in my power to convict you'

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner appeared alongside other local officials on Wednesday to criticize Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities, with the district attorney saying he would not hesitate to prosecute ICE agents.

He said of ICE and its actions across the country, "This is ultimately about good versus evil. That's what it is. It's about good versus evil. Renee Nicole Good is just part of that good and she is up against evil," per NBC 10. He later added, "What does it mean? It means that we are talking about good versus evil. We are talking about unchecked power."

Krasner said he would not hesitate to prosecute federal agents if they operate in a similar fashion to Minnesota, where an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good after she rammed her car into the agent.

"We will arrest you. We will handcuff you. We will close those cuffs. We will put you in a cell. We will set your bail and I'm going to ask for it to be appropriately high. We will take you to trial and I'm going to do everything in my power to convict you, and we will make sure you serve your entire sentence because Donald Trump has no power, whatsoever, to pardon you. That's the way the law works," Krasner said.

Krasner later added, "What the law says is very clear, very clear, very clear, very clear. Do you hear me JD Vance? What the law says is federal officers can't murder you."

Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal promised to "smoke" out ICE agents, saying, "When I say, you don't want this smoke, the smoke is from both sides. The sheriff's office is obligated because we believe in the Constitution of the United States. We follow the law and the smoke means, you will get arrested, you will get prosecuted, and you will go to jail."

This comes as the neighboring county of Philadelphia, Bucks County, has ended its partnership with ICE. Bucks County Sheriff Danny Ceisler announced the end of the formal partnership on Wednesday, saying, “After careful evaluation, I have determined that the certain public safety costs of this ICE partnership are greatly outweighed by any potential public safety benefits that this partnership may offer."
