STOP RUNNING TO THE WORLD’S god
By: Linda Kirby/WGON

“Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.” -- (Isaiah 8:11-13) There is so much fear being passed around, so many conspiracy theories being spread causing fear, and we Christians sometimes take part in this fear campaign without remembering what the Holy Spirit said in this scripture. Fear keeps us off balance. It doesn’t allow us to think clearly. We can’t have that sound mind we are told to have. (2 Timothy 1:7) -- "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." With so many people from all sides pressing fear onto the world, we find it hard not to get all involved in the fear campaign. We must not fear, we must trust in the Lord. Yes, times are scary because the god of this world is threatening us with job loss and freedoms lost, but our God has overcome this world. So, fear not what they threaten you with. Don’t get involved in any reading, news reports, videos, or posts of any kind that spread fear. That is of the devil himself. Read the word of the Lord and find comfort there rather than looking for fear everywhere. We fear a virus: one that has a 99.97% recovery rate. We don’t fear God anymore because that virus has become the god of this world. “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” -- (Exodus 15:26) Satan is limited in his power, while the true living God is all powerful. Yet we run from God to the world’s god for protection? This isn’t what a Christian should be doing. Run to the Lord in prayer. Run to His Word, the bible, for the real truth -- for peace, for inspiration, and encouragement. Don’t give fear a foot hold. Don’t honor the world’s god and its cures as your hope. Our hope is in Jesus. (Romans 15:13) -- “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.“
