WE ARE CREATURES OF HABIT

It is healthy to live with a routine. We as humans are calmer, more on an even keel, and happier when we have our normal daily routine. Sure, we can deviate from it a little every now and then, but we must get back to it or we start to unravel. I speak of the worldly people here. We, as followers of Christ, are a little bit different. Yes, we like our routines, also; however, we have Jesus at our core and no matter how much our regular way of life is thrown off, Jesus is still there. He is our Rock and our Stronghold (Ps. 18:2). We are unshaken when things around us fall apart, because our inner being is built on Jesus and His word. He keeps us strong. The world goes to pieces when its routine is out of kilter, as we’ve seen during the lockdowns this past year. Many people could no longer live their normal lives, and they became so distraught that they went so far as to commit suicide. They didn’t have a solid center…it was like a cheese puff: empty, with no substance in the middle. When things are disrupted in your regular life, just know that you have a Rock inside of you. This Rock will give us stability and will keep us going.
