YOUR DAYS OF CRYING ARE ALMOST OVER
By: Linda Kirby/WGON
As the days grow darker and mankind grows colder, the church of Jesus Christ cries out, "Lord, how long will You look on?" (Psalm 35:17a). We cry for the world. We cry for the children. We cry for the lost. Yet, we as Christ followers acknowledge that as we move closer to the tribulation, it will become harder to overcome. That’s why the apostle Paul tells us we have two weapons: the armor of God and praying in the Spirit (Ep. 6:18). This armor is from the top of our heads to the bottom of our feet. Nothing can penetrate it. By praying in the Spirit, we can overcome anything. We are told to be overcomers and that’s the only way we can make it to the end. In the Book of Revelation (Chapters 2 and 3), Jesus tells the churches to be overcomers. This means that we should overcome the world with its trials and sorrows; and not conform to the pressures of the world. We should stay steadfast in our faith. We should work to further the kingdom. In Revelation 3:2, the Lord says: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” So when things get difficult to experience, and as the world grows darker by the day, we must overcome to sit on the throne with Jesus. Our days of crying are almost over.
