The prophet, Jeremiah reached a breaking point — not because God failed him, but because God’s people did. Beaten by a priest, humiliated in the temple, mocked for speaking truth… he finally collapsed under the weight of obedience.

But even in his anguish, Jeremiah never cursed God. He never walked away. He didn’t give up on the Lord — he gave up on Jeremiah.

His crisis wasn’t a crisis of faith. It was a crisis of self.

And that’s where many Christians stumble today. We start out red‑hot for Jesus, full of joy and fire… until life gets hard. Then we stop leaning on Christ and start leaning on ourselves. Self‑reliance always breaks. It always fails. And when it fails, some turn away from the very One who could have carried them.

Jeremiah shows us the better way.

When he could no longer stand on his own strength, he fell into God’s strength. When he couldn’t lean on Jeremiah, he leaned on the Everlasting Arms.

That is our lesson.

Lean on Jesus — not yourself. When the world turns against you, when persecution comes, when your own strength collapses… lean on Him. Because those Everlasting Arms never fail.
